Territory War Guide
1. After holding Southern Jambudvipa, Wuji Kingdom, or Northern Kuru continuously for 48 hours, the Clan Leader can claim the "Hegemon's Token" from the Earth Spirit God.
2. Once you hold the Hegemon's Token, speak to the Sky City Envoy and select "Sign Up," then pay or add to your deposit in the pop-up window to join the queue.
The Sky City Envoy stands next to the Chang'an Instance Manager. Sign-up runs from 20:00 every Wednesday to 24:00 that Thursday. The first deposit requires at least 1,000 gold, and each additional deposit must be at least 1,000 gold. The deposit cap is 200,000 gold. Eligibility to attack Sky City is ranked by deposit size -- the clan with the highest deposit gets the right to attack Sky City that week. Clans ranked second or lower move up the deposit rankings as they add to their deposit. If two or more clans are tied for the highest deposit, whichever clan reached that amount first wins the eligibility. Regardless of the outcome, once a deposit is paid it cannot be refunded.
3. Once the challenging clan is confirmed, Sky City's territory war officially opens from 18:00 to 21:00 that Saturday. Between 18:00 and 19:00, the Clan Leader receives a system prompt every time they log in asking whether to open the Sky City war. If the Clan Leader chooses to start, the war begins immediately. Every online member of that clan receives a system service offering transport into Sky City -- confirm it to enter the battlefield at once. If you dismiss the prompt, you can still enter through the Sky City Envoy on Line 8. Online members of the clan that currently holds Sky City also receive the same transport prompt when the war begins. If the clan with challenger eligibility does not open the Sky City war between 18:00 and 19:00, the war is forced open at 19:00. Between 0:00 and 17:00 every Saturday, the Clan Leader of the clan holding Sky City can accumulate up to 50 tradeable Sky City Allied Entry Passes. Players who are not members of the current ruling clan or the challenging clan can join the defending side if they hold a Sky City defender's entry pass. Any character who is not a member of either clan and does not hold a defender's entry pass can join the attacking side led by the challenging clan. Every participant who is not a member of the ruling clan or the challenging clan has the prefix "Mercenary" added before their character name.
4. The battlefield for the territory war is Sky City. Both sides start from different positions, but each side's goal is to defeat the other's guardian deity. The attacking side, led by the challenging clan, only needs to defeat Zhuanxu to successfully capture Sky City. The defending clan can win by defeating Gonggong, or by protecting Zhuanxu from being defeated within the time limit, provided they also hold at least one territory (Southern Jambudvipa, Northern Kuru, or Wuji Kingdom) throughout the process. If the defenders hold Sky City but do not control a territory by the end of the battle, Sky City reverts to an unclaimed city. Outside of an official territory war, the clan holding Sky City does not lose its rule over Sky City even if it loses its territory. Sky City's rulership is lost only if the ruling clan's Clan Leader changes or the clan disbands. A clan that loses a Sky City war can only join the following week's war as mercenaries; it can only take part again as a challenging clan starting two weeks later.
5. Outside of the official territory war, the ruling clan can make strategic preparations for the upcoming battle. The ruling clan's Clan Leader can place up to 50 Skywar Crossbow Towers (single-target attacks with high damage) around Sky City to assist in battle. These can be built by obtaining Yu the Great's Shovel from the corresponding NPC in Sky City and digging the foundation at the desired location. The ruling clan's Clan Leader can place up to 4 of each resource building in Sky City's back garden. During the official territory war, these resource buildings automatically generate the resources (Dao Seeds, Buddha Seeds, Origin Seeds) needed to upgrade the skill tree. Each building provides 1 point of its resource every 10 seconds. All of these supporting structures can be destroyed during battle. Attackers who destroy combat or resource structures can collect the items and gold the building drops. After the territory war ends, if Sky City's rulership changes hands, all buildings disappear. If the ruling clan repels the challengers, any buildings that were not destroyed are kept.
6. Sky City floor plan:
The attacking side (challenging clan + mercenaries) starts at the Sacred Qilin Terrace. The defending side (current ruling clan + mercenaries) starts at the Myriad Treasures Garden. Gonggong is located at the Divine Chariot. Zhuanxu is located at the Temple of the Eastern Lord. Near each side's starting point is a Dao Seed deposit, with a collection cap of 5,000 each. Closer to both sides' starting points are one Buddha Seed deposit and one Origin Seed deposit, each with a collection cap of 10,000. Fighting over these resources plays a key role in the territory war. All of these resources can only be gathered after taking the matching quest from your side's NPC -- "Gonggong's Banner" (for the attacking side) and "Zhuanxu's Banner" (for the defending side). Turning in the gathered resources to the NPC grants your side the matching amount and type of resource. These two banners also sell powerful skill items to aid in battle. In addition, four spirit veins can be found on floating islands near Sky City, harvestable only by the attacking side. Digging there can unearth the treasure "Mount Buzhou's Wrath," which deals massive damage to Zhuanxu. Combat structures placed by the ruling clan can be found in the square at Purple Cloud Palace, the main battlefield. Resource buildings placed by the ruling clan can be found inside the Myriad Treasures Garden; these resource buildings additionally provide Dao Seeds, Buddha Seeds, and Origin Seeds.
7. During the territory war, the Clan Leaders of both the ruling clan and the challenging clan can control the battle through the Clan Leader Command Interface. The interface looks like this:
Resource 1: amount of Dao Seeds. Resource 2: amount of Buddha Seeds. Resource 3: amount of Origin Seeds. Score Board: the personal kill count of each of our fighters on the battlefield. Clicking a button in the tech tree on the right summons an NPC that lets your side's characters accept that skill. Clicking a button requires two conditions: 1) every skill at the tail of an arrow pointing to this button has already been unlocked (its prerequisites are satisfied), and 2) you have enough of all three resource types. Only one NPC will ever be available to grant a given skill line -- whichever one was unlocked most recently. So take care: each class's ultimate skill is the "Sovereign" tier, and unlocking Sovereign before going back to unlock the earlier "Origin" and "Sage" tiers will make everyone yell at you for a careless click. For the cost and effect of each skill, see the game's built-in help (hotkey "L"). All of these buffs last permanently as long as you don't die or change server lines. The button in the very center, Map Weapon: click this if the front line can't hold and needs a miracle, a turnaround, or something like a weapon of mass destruction! The attacking side will summon a powerful map weapon at the "Divine Chariot" that deals wide-area damage to nearby enemy players to protect Gonggong; the defending side will summon a powerful map weapon inside the "Temple of the Eastern Lord" to help defend their side! The Clan Leader Command Interface is only active for the current territory war -- everything resets after the battle ends. If the Clan Leader Command Interface is closed, it can be reopened by clicking the "Instance Details" button beneath your character portrait. The cost and effect of each skill are as follows:
